Frequently Asked Questions from Veterans
Who is eligible to live here?
Our homes are designed for Veterans who are capable of living independently but benefit from structured, shared housing. This includes those seeking stability, community, and support while transitioning to civilian life.
How is this different from assisted living or a group home?
We focus on independence and community, not medical oversight. Residents live in a supportive environment without institutional restrictions.
What does a typical home look like?
Private or shared furnished bedrooms, shared kitchen and living areas, community spaces for socializing and activities. Our homes are designed to feel safe, comfortable, and welcoming.
Are meals or other services provided?
Meals are usually self-prepared, with opportunities for communal cooking. Additional support such as job resources, transportation, or wellness programs may be available through partnerships.
How long can I stay?
Residency is flexible, ranging from a few months to long-term, based on individual goals and needs.
How much does it cost?
Rent is affordable and transparent, structured per room or per bed. We can assist with VA or local housing support programs for eligible veterans.
Are there rules or expectations?
To maintain a safe and respectful community, residents are expected to follow home rules and respect housemates and shared spaces, participate in community routines and meetings, comply with agreements and local laws, engage in personal goals, work, or education.
How do I apply?
Complete the Veteran Intake Form. Once reviewed, we’ll schedule an orientation visit to meet housemates and staff.
What if I need help with healthcare, employment, or benefits?
Our team provides referrals and guidance to VA programs and veteran service organizations.
Who manages the homes?

Frequently asked questions from Landlords/Property Owners:
What is a master lease, and how does it work for my property?
A master lease is an agreement where Bellhouse Home Solutions leases your property at a fixed monthly rate. We handle all tenant placement, property management, and day-to-day operations while you receive consistent rental income without vacancy risk.
Do I still have to manage the property?
No. We take on the full responsibility for managing the home, including marketing, screening tenants, collecting rent, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with local laws.
How do you screen tenants?
All residents are Veterans vetted through our structured intake process. We prioritize stability, accountability, and community engagement to maintain a safe and supportive environment in your home.
What if there's property damage?
We carry full insurance and a damage protection plan. Additionally, our operational team performs routine inspections and maintenance, minimizing risk and keeping your property in excellent condition.
How long is the lease term?
Terms are typically 2-4 years, with the possibility to renew or purchase. This provides consistent rental income and reduces tumover compared to individual tenant leases.
How do you handle rent payments?
You are paid a fixed monthly rent directly from us, regardless of occupancy or individual tenant payment. You don’t need to worry about chasing late payments.
What happens if tenants move out early?
Vacancies are our responsibility. We maintain a waiting list and ensure your property remains occupied, so your rental income is uninterrupted.
Will this affect my property insurance or mortgage?
Your current insurance and mortgage stay in place. Bellhouse Home Solutions will carry full insurance and require tenants to have their own insurance in place.
Why should I partner with Bellhouse for Veteran housing?
Our model provides stable, socially responsible tenancy, reduces landlord stress, and guarantees consistent rent. Your property supports Veterans transitioning to stable, independent living—a meaningful community impact.
Can I visit or check on the property?
Yes. We maintain transparency with landlords and provide operational updates. Scheduled visits are welcomed.
About Bellhouse Home Solutions
Founder | Veteran Housing Director
Jon Belanger is a Navy Veteran, real estate professional, and the founder of Bellhouse Home Solutions — a company dedicated to creating safe, structured, community-driven housing for Veterans.
After serving his country, Jon became passionate about solving one of the most overlooked challenges Veterans face — stable, affordable, community-driven housing.
Seeing firsthand how many Veterans struggle with housing instability after service, Jon felt called to build something different. Not institutional. Not clinical. But homes — real homes — where Veterans can rebuild stability, find accountability, and live independently within a supportive community.
As a Veteran, licensed Realtor, former mortgage loan officer, and Business Operations graduate, Jon combines strategy with heart. His housing model partners with landlords and communities to turn everyday houses into places of dignity, structure, and forward momentum. His mission is simple:
Create housing that restores stability, builds community, and honors service.
Veterans aren’t trained to retire. They’re trained to serve, to lead, to push through adversity, and to live with purpose.
My goal is to offer a space where Veterans can live independently while staying connected.”
